Val Masino is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Sondrio in the Italian region Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northwest of Sondrio, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 962 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Val Masino contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Cataeggio, Filorera, and San Martino.
